Access Membership Scheme

We are committed to ensuring all customers can participate in and enjoy the performances. Under the Equalities Act we recognise our responsibilities to undertake reasonable adjustments to the services we deliver; this new scheme is for customers who have specific access requirements. By signing up to the scheme, our staff will be more aware of your needs and preferences when booking and be able to advise on the best available seats for you. You will also be able to book a wheelchair space and tickets for yourself and an essential companion online.
We also wanted to let you know that we now have a local number for you to call if you wish to book tickets (for access and essential companion tickets only) which is 0113 205 3899.
If you join the scheme, you will be invited to visit the venue and familiarise yourself with the location of our services and facilities within. You can meet with a member of our team and discuss any specific needs you have, our evacuation procedures and anything else that may help you when you come to see a show.
If you require an essential companion when you attend the theatre to see a production, we request that person comes with you to the familiarisation visit and we ask that they be a minimum of 14 years of age. You are of course welcome to bring somebody with you regardless.
Should you wish to join the Access Membership Scheme please complete the form below and return to us along with a copy of your proof of eligibility*. Once we have received your application, a member of our Duty Management team will be in touch to arrange your familiarisation visit.

Audio Induction Loop Information
An Audio Induction Loop is installed for patrons with hearing difficulties - please contact Box Office for advice.

Unfortunately, the audio induction loop does not effectively cover every seat in the auditorium. Customers wishing to make use of this facility should call Box Office on 0113 243 0808 who will be able to advise the best positions available.

Please note members of Leeds Hard of Hearing Forum have visited City Varieties to test the loop system; they have reported back that while the experience varied for different people,  the overall consensus was that the following areas had good coverage:

Stalls: Rows G – T (either end of the row was weaker, but still ok)
Circle: Rows D – G
The group felt that Upper Circle was not appropriate for the hard of hearing as the stage was too far away to lip read clearly.  There is no loop coverage in side stalls or boxes.
British Sign Language interpreted performances are included in our annual pantomime schedule - please liaise with Box Office for further information on times and dates.
Large print season summaries may be supplied to order.
